User Codes

Keypad is made of metal material with high quality finish. When you hold the keypad in your hands you can easily feel the quality. It can be programmed to hold 6 user codes + 1 one time usage code with 4 to 10 digits. One time usage code is very useful feature. Programming

Programming is made by entering the programming code which is 0000 by default. Battery Life of Kwikset 264 Contemporary Keypad

Kwikset 264 Contemporary Keypad Deadbolt requires 4 x AA Alkaline batteries to operate. These batteries are not included in the package.battery life. We suggest you to buy Duracell batteries for a longer performance. Unfortunately, you can not use rechargable batteries. It will give you low battery error if you try.

Battery life may change significantly depending on the factors as weather conditions, usage frequency, battery quality, condition of the door, auto lock. So we can’t say exact timing but you can expect to change your batteries around 6-8 months with an average usage frequency.

Kwikset button flashes red 10 times with 10 beeps to inform you about low battery. You should change them as soon as possible to prevent battery drain. Even if you forget to change them you can still use your key to unlock the door if it is near you.

Changing the batteries is very simple. Just slide up the cover on the interior unit and change the batteries. No need to loosen any screws. Maximum 1 minute required.
