Keypad of Signstek Electronic Keypad Door Lock
As the keypad design, we can say that it is very simple and easy to use. When you look at the product, you immediately understand how to use it. It is made of stainless steel and brass. There is a lever that allows you to unlock the door when you enter the correct password. It can be adjusted for both left or right side.
We can say that it looks as a heavy-duty electronic lock. It has IP57 certification which means it will work between -4 °F and 158 °F and will be waterproof but this doesn’t mean it is 100% safe to use it under very wet air conditions.
As design, it looks as almost same as Kwikset 264 Contemporary Keypad Deadbolt and Tacklife Keypad Electronic Deadbolt.
User Codes
You can program 6 user codes in total to Signstek Electronic Keypad Lever Door Lock. You can also program an additional one time user code when needed. One-time code works very well feature for smart locks and electronic locks in this style. When you do not want to give a permanent user code but you have someone who needsto enter your home, you can solve this problem by programming a one time usage code. After using the one time usage code, it is automatically deleted from memory.
One time usage codes are great for giving someone access to your house when you don’t want to give permanent user codes. Dogwalker, handyman and any kind of short time visitors can use this code.
When the wrong code is entered 5 times, the system automatically shuts down and starts to beep 5 times. The system becomes active again after 45 seconds.

Battery Life of Signstek Electronic Keypad Door Lock
Signstek Electronic Keypad Lever Door Lock uses 4 AA Alkaline batteries. These batteries do not come in the package. Therefore, we recommend you to buy quality Alkaline batteries to obtain the longest battery life. We recommend you to buy Duracell batteries or Energizer AA Batteries for the best performance. Rechargeable batteries unfortunately can not be used at at this electronic lock. If you insert a rechargeable battery, you will get a Low battery warning.
It is very difficult to be precise about battery life, but we can give you some approximate timing. Since we did not have the chance to test this product for a long time, we reached out to some customers who had Signstek Electronic Keypad Lever Door Lock before and asked for their opinions. In addition, we did various tests by installing this product on different doors as we always do and calculated the average battery consumption. When we combine all the data we have obtained and get an average value, we can say that you can expect a battery life of approximately 1 year at least.
We would like to remind you that each user’s experience will be different. There are many factors that influence the battery life. As an example of these factors, we can count various events such as the condition of the door, weather conditions, usage frequency, quality of the batteries and activated features.
Signstek Electronic Keypad Lever Door Lock has a longer battery life compared to the similar models Kwikset 264 Contemporary Keypad Deadbolt and Tacklife Keypad Electronic Deadbolt that we mentioned earlier. The reason for this is the difference in the working system, since there is only an activating mechanism in this lock to release the lever, the battery consumption is much lower.
There is a low battery indicator to prevent sudden battery drain. Once the batteries get low you will hear 10 rapid beeps with 10 red flashes. After receiving a low battery warning, your battery will not run out immediately, but for precautionary reasons, we recommend that you replace your batteries as soon as possible. If you forget to change your batteries and your batteries runs out, you can use your key to unlock the door.
Battery replacement process is also very easy, after you slide the cover on the indoor unit upwards, you can complete the process by replacing the batteries in the battery compartment. Battery replacement takes about 1 minute in total.
